(RE)Imagine Wood Green was commissioned by Haringey Council as part of their High Street Recovery Action Plan funded by the Good Growth Fund. (RE)Imagine Wood Green planned to deliver three large scale public realm artworks.
The works needed to support local artists whilst engaging with the local community and encouraging people back to the high street.
Bud Studio developed an open call for local artists. Haringey Council then shortlisted the artists. The shortlisted artists were presented by Bud Studio to a community panel who selected an artist for each site.
Bud Studio then wrote a brief for each artist and site. After the initial artworks were designed we had a round of amendments with the community panel where they could feed their ideas into the artworks.
After the final artworks were designed Bud Studio along with local junior artists installed the artworks. The outcome was one large scale artwork on the side of Wood Green Library measuring 26m x 22m; 10 newly installed painted bike racks
in TPL and a 3D installation on the lighting columns
on Leamington Avenue, as well as many paid opportunities for local artists.
Through partnering with Bud Studio three exciting pieces of artwork were delivered and we would like to thank Bud Studio for the work produced by them and their delivery. These pieces of artwork have already had a positive impact on Wood Green and are now being enjoyed by visitors, local businesses, residents and the local community.
